Scentsy - What I love about it!

So I have been converted.
I love scented candles, but hated burning them.
Scentsy found me out of the blue!
I have kids and didn't think scentsy would be safe.
Turns out, it's really safe. The scents do not evapourate, the do not contain led or soot and they have over 80 amazing fragrances to choose from.
My favorites so far, are Enchanted Mist, Ocean, Thunderstorm, Luna, and Lucky in Love.
I have the following warmers: Zebra, Margot, Soccer Ball, Caldera.
I have the following plug-ins: Zebra, Shasta daisy

I haven't changed a light bulb since I got them, and I started using them October 2010.
They do not burn, they get warm and are CSA approved.
Tell me your favorite scent, warmer or plug in and describe why you love scentsy!

Time Management

So it's been a while since i've posted... had a fullfilled weekend preparing for this week.
This week I started my Time Managment course and was I ever excited to.
I am the most unorganized person in the world. I like to think of myself as in control but i'm really all over the place. I need to learn organization and self-esteem somethings this class taught me.
One of the lines I will never forget, possibly because he drilled in our heads every 2 seconds... "Fish discovered Water Last"
This is all I heard for 2 days. Ok no not really. This is what I focused in on to try and discover the meaning.
I will take away a lot from this course and recommend it to everyone I know.
Greg Campeau, a great trainer, gave some valuable messages, like Its simple, it's not easy.
I am eager to go to work tomorrow and put my skills to use. Something I never thought of doing, creating a to do list before i leave work everyday so i come in and know what's on for today.
I found out my personality and why i'm on the payroll. he asked this quite a lot... "Why are you on the payroll?" I went home and thought for hours, why am I on the payroll? How valuable am I to my team.
Man If I could recommend a course to anyone this would be it. I haven't taken that many courses, but each I take, I learn a lot. I hope to look into more of his work. I think he does a leadership course as well and I think I could benefit from that as well. Let's try and put these tips to work tomorrow and see how that goes.
He also referred a bunch of books too that I will have to check out as well. One on self esteem for sure!

New Kids on the Block

So the New Kids On The Block are coming to Concert on November 21, 2008 here in Vancouver at GM Place and a bunch of the girls want to get together and make it a night on the town.
It's on a Friday which is awesome news because we can stay out late and not have to worry about getting up early the next day!!!
We're also thinking of dressing up from back in the 90's.
Crimped hair, blue eyeliner, leg warmers the whole bit!
I'm excited and it's not yet until November.

"Please don't go girl"
"Hangin' Tough"
"Step by Step"

SO EXCITED!!!!

father's day

I hope everyone had a great father's day. We did.
We had the family over for a potluck dinner.
We had 7 layer dip, macaroni salad, potato salad, coleslaw, chips, dip, veggies & dip and burgers.
We hadn't seen everyone since the wedding so it was nice to all get together and have a dinner.
Next weekend is Jesse's birthday. He'll be 26. Old fart haha!
We're going to go paintballing and then have another bbq dinner with some of the same fixings.
Mmm it was so good going to do it twice.
No renovations next weekend...which will be a nice break.
The following weekend we are planning to go to a play that my auntie and uncle are in so that should be great i'm really looking forward to that.
Then sunday - PLAYLAND!!!!! Yippeee!
Also, today is Molly (my cousin) 17th birthday.

Slowpitch!

So we're part of a slow pitch team called the RDR raiders.
Yesterday I played 2nd and right field, when usually I play catcher.
I got two people out woohoo! More action on 2nd then catcher.
You see I can't catch balls that are whipped at me, but i can catch them when they're caught by someone else and passed to me! So I like 2nd!!

Today we're putting in the kitchen floor. We're bringing the dog back to my parents house as they have a yard and we only have a townhouse with a deck and since he's been home he misses the freedom. So I think later on today I"m going to bring the dog over to my moms and he can live there until we sell this place, and get a yard. I can tell they miss him though.
My mom, not really a dog person...ME I love dogs i just don't love when they pee and poo wherever they want! I can't wait for those tapes to come from Lise. She's taping me a dog training video by Ceaser. Then when I get the dog back I can use what I learned in the tapes.

Well that's all for today...until next time

Renovations

So we are renovating our house...Hoping to sell in the next while.
So far we have gutted the Bathroom, Kitchen, Dining room & bedrooms.
We started painting.
Ashton's room was a dark dark brown, the light was so dim it looked like a dungeon! We painted it Light blue and red. Like Spiderman! He loves Spiderman.
For our room it was this nasty mustard yellow. We bought this really neat paint that looked like chocolate mousse. Mmm I just wanted to eat it....but I reminded myself it was paint. The hard part was putting it on with a spatula. It needed two coats and a sanding. We ripped out the carpet from both rooms and had new nicer ones installed. The installers broke my hallway light fixture and a bag of funny cigarettes fell out of their pocket, but that's a whole 'nother story!!
But everything looks great in the bedrooms.
Moving along to the bathroom, we ripped out all the tile, painted the cupboards installed a new faucet for the sink and changed all the faucets in the shower/tub!
I ripped up the floor and we're almost done the bathroom, everything's done but the floor.
Moving downstairs, we ripped up the carpet in the dining room...who has carpet in dining rooms with a 5 year old and a dog anyway?? installed laminate and seperated the livingroom & diningroom.
We are planning to rip out the carpet in the living room next, bought all the laminate already just waiting for mom-in-law to come help cut again!!
Then we move into the kitchen. Recently we ripped out all the cupboards that were falling off when we bought the place and re-installed brand spanking new ones. White cabinets with puter nobs! So posh!! so nice!!
Ripped up the floor, and that is our project this weekend!
What we have left, painting, living room laminate, stairs from carpet to laminate, laundry room needs walls, paint and a clean sweep.
Hopefully we can replace some of the windows as it will up the cost!!
I hope I didn't miss anything out except we wouldn't be able to do this without the help of our family!! And our friends with the painting!

A brief description about the Hawkins crew

Hello everyone, my name is Christina for those who don't know me, and I'm the latest Newlywed! I am now a Hawkins. Yes like the Cheezies.

I would like to welcome you to my blog!
Here I will create my journal on a daily basis.

You see, my grandma records a daily journal and gets my grandpa to create poems from them so I hope maybe I can do somewhat of the same thing, except in a newer age kind of way.

I work for Finning Canada and I love my job. I work with some great people and really enjoy what I do. This position was made for me and I think any job like that you should try and excell at.

My new husband works graveyard shift for Brinks and so this leaves me with some time. We have a 5 year old son, Ashton and he just learned how to spell his name. We thought we would put his name as his password on the computer and he loves the computer, so aren't we smart now everything is ASHTON, websites are Ashton and all passwords are Ashton. It's all about Ashton and it is!
He enjoys video games, sports and movies! He loves his scooter and loves swimming. He's about to start Kindergarden in September! He's very excited.

I will share some of the wedding photos shortly for those of you who want to put a face to the name!

Talk to you then!
